A Keyboard and Mouse
Finally, a cheap solution for the furious mashing of buttons can be any $20 or so keyboard-mouse bundle. AmazonBasics wired keyboard-mouse set can be got for a meagre $15 and is of decent build too .
All got together, this PC setup should cost you about $365, give or take a few bucks depending on regional price variations and discounts you may chance upon. That still leaves you with about 20-40 bucks to spare which you can divert to any other component you need. For example, you can go for a better GPU like the HD 7790 or the (older) Nvidia GTX 560; keep in mind that you take a card with GDDR5 memory type since the GDDR3 type is getting redundant. Otherwise, you can buy a controller for yourself, maybe a better keyboard-mouse combo, a headset or better cooling fans or a neater, LED laden cabinet. After that, it’s as simple as stockpiling your Steam library and getting down to business.
These components that have been listed here, by no means beat the new generation consoles in the gaming benchmarks, but they certainly come close to the performance that the consoles are capable of delivering. Of course that is to change as developers wrench out the true potential of these consoles in the coming months, but as of now, we have a decent gaming PC that stands tough on the 8th generation console war front, even though it may not be a vanquisher.
