With durability a major gameplay factor in Hytale, being able to repair your various tools, weapons, and armor is critical to your survival. However, it might not be clear exactly how and when to make use of the Repair Kit for maximum effectiveness.

This Hytale guide details everything there is to know about crafting and using the Repair Kit.

How To Craft The Repair Kit

The Repair Kit is a little further along in your crafting progression than you might expect. This is because the materials needed to craft it require both the Tanning Rack and the Furnace to be deployed first. These materials are:

  • Linen Scraps x2
  • Iron Ingot x1
  • Light Leather x1

Access your general Workbench and navigate to the second tab along the top, titled ‘Tools’ to find the Repair Kit right at the start of the items.

As a single-use, consumable item, you will have to place the Repair Kit in your hotbar and then right-click it. This will display a ‘Repair Items’ pop-up listing all the repairable items currently in your Inventory, alongside their Durability expressed in percentages.

Selecting an item instantly consumes the Repair Kit with no confirmation dialog, so be certain before you commit. The maximum durability of the item being repaired will be lowered by 10% each time a Repair Kit is used. As such, it is generally ideal to completely exhaust an item’s durability before repairing it for maximum value.

Additionally, given that the materials required to craft the Repair Kit are harder to acquire than those required for merely crafting the majority of low-tier items, these are best saved and used on higher tier tools, weapons, and armor.

Eventually the maximum durability of an item will be whittled down to zero, at which it will permanently become both unrepairable and unusable, but will remain salvageable with the Salvager’s Workbench which is a Tier 2 Workbench recipe.

That is everything there is to know about repairing tools, weapons, and armor with the consumable Repair Kit in Hytale.
