In Let It Die, You Battle Yourself

As deep as that sounds, I mean that literally.

Let It Die

Suda51 announced yet another quirky, unique game recently- this time at Sony’s E3, when he took the wraps off of his newest project, the brawler titled Let It Die. Of course, this being a Suda game, no one quite knew what to expect from it even after we were shown the trailer, and Suda was being quiet about it. However, now, in an interview with Eurogamer, he has chosen to talk about the game… a little.

He spoke about the game’s novel mechanic- when you die, your entire character, including what he was wearing, what he was equipped with, and what his fighting style was like- respawns as an enemy. When asked what prompted him to pursue this novel approach, he responded, The core concept was ‘how do we get players to repeat play without getting bored? We thought if we could put other player data into it, they’d have different characteristics each time you play.”

It certainly sounds like a novel approach resulting in what might be a novel game. Whether all this novelty translates to something worth playing, however, remains to be seen (and do remember, Suda’s track record is rather hit and miss).
