Last year inXile Entertainment Studio Head Brian Fargo confirmed that the studio was working on an “ambitious” RPG on Twitter. That wouldn’t be news for the storied RPG studio, which made its bones developing games like The Bard’s Tale and Wastetland 3. inXile making an ambitious RPG isn’t surprising, but we didn’t have more much to go on besides that until today.

Thanks to a hint from the studio’s Twitter account, however, we now know that the game in question is probably a first-person shooter RPG. The news comes as a response to the official Xbox Twitter, which posted a gif to help players decide what they should play next after they’re done with their current game. inXile’s Twitter responded with “NEW + FPS + RPG.”

inXile has previously stated that they would be using Unreal Engine 5 for its next project, and the studio was recently hiring, so we might be seeing more information on their next project sooner rather than later. Whatever it is, it will release on Xbox Game Pass at release, given that inXile is a part of Xbox Game Studios.
