It Looks Like Nintendo Will Announce a New Game in February

Apparently the company is going to announce an unexpected new game soon- and it may or may not have something to do with Kirby.

With the exception of 2020, the February of each year has generally seen new Nintendo Direct presentations making a number of new announcements for several years at this point. It seems like Nintendo might once again be gearing up to make more reveals soon- or at least one.

As recently shared (and translated) on Twitter by @Dededaio, the upcoming issue of Japanese magazine Nintendo Dream (out on February 21) will cover a new game that hasn’t yet been announced. The magazine says that in addition to sharing more details on the upcoming Kirby and the Forgotten Land in celebration of Kirby’s 30th anniversary, the upcoming issue of the magazine will also feature “a new game” that they “didn’t expect” that will be announced soon.

There is some confusion based on the translation about whether this is referring to a new Kirby game or just a new game announcement by Nintendo in general- either way, it looks like there will be some new announcement in the near future. Some recent signs might be pointing to Xenoblade Chronicles 3– but that’s just pure speculation at this point.
