Kid Icarus: Uprising delayed to 2012

Posted By | On 13th, Sep. 2011

Nintendo announced during their pre-TGS conference that Kid Icarus: Uprising, the highly anticipated 3DS on-rails action game, will not be seeing a release this year, contrary to what was announced before. Its release date has been pushed back to 2012.

They also announced that animation studios Production I.G, Studio 4C and Shaft, those who worked on Ghost in the Shell, Catherine and Negima respectively, will be making animated videos for Kid Icarus: Uprising, and these videos will be released on the 3DS for promotion of the game (Andriasang). Most likely, they will be downloadable via Nintendo Video.

Originally announced at E3, Kid Icarus: Uprising is supposed to start act as a kick-off to a new IP, even though it is the third game in the series (after a hiatus of twenty long years).

Nintendo originally intended to launch it “after E3”, along with Ocarina of Time 3D, but oh well… at least we’ll get a better game.

See one of the only gameplay videos released for the game till now here. It looks pretty good.
