Killer Instinct: Orchid And Spinal Revealed And Teased

The next in the Killer Instinct series

Posted By | On 02nd, Nov. 2013

Earlier today IGN have released a video depicting the latest developments in the upcoming title Killer Instinct: Orchid and Spinal. The Killer Instinct series is an action fighting series that combines the traditional elements seen in such classic fighting games as Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter, but adapted for a more modern audience,

From this trailer, while we can’t see much of the actual game play, we do see some CGI cinematics that show off both what we can expect from the Killer Instinct cutscenes, and some of the choreography that will be displayed in the game’s fighting instances.

The little game play that we do see shows off a dynamic and fluid battle system the likes of which is rarely displayed in modern (or classic) fighting games. From what we can see – and hopefully this will wind up being the case – fighting will consist of an intricate system of combination moves that pay tribute to the original combo based system of the Killer Instinct series, but with a more complex twist; playing to the sophistication that the average member of the gaming community now has relative to when the first of the Killer Instinct series released.
