Hideo Kojima says he definitely wants to do a PC version of his upcoming Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain if that is something the fans want, but says that he cannot make a formal announcement yet.

“PC, that’s my original background,” Kojima said while speaking with GameSpot. “I originally created PC games. A long time ago I didn’t want to rely on platforms to release games, so if people want it, I cannot make a formal announcement, but that is definitely something that I would like to do.”

The Metal Gear Solid series hasn’t really been very friendly to the PC audiences. Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots never made it to any system but the PS3, and the upcoming prologue title to Phantom Pain, titled Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes, is also not releasing on the PC. However, 2013’s Metal Gear Rising Revengeance did come to the PC.

Stay tuned for more updates.
