Kojima Productions’ Next Game Might be Announced “Quite Soon”

Art director Yoji Shinkawa says the studio's sophomore project is likely to be unveiled soon.

Kojima Productions’ debut title, Death Stranding, represented the first time Hideo Kojima and his team would work on something as an independent developer, and Kojima’s first non-Metal Gear project in a long, long time. Not long afterward, the developer started working on its second project, officially confirming late last year that its second game was in the works. And it’s likely that that will be announced soon.

In an interview with YouTube channel Al Hub (spotted by VGC), when asked about what he’s working on right now, Kojima Productions art director Yoji Shinkawa (who’s been working with Kojim for a long time, most notably as the art director of the Metal Gear games) said that he was indeed at work on something, adding, “we can announce it quite soon.”

What that project turns out to be remains to be seen, but it should definitely be interesting to see whether it turns out to be a Death Stranding sequel, that new horror game Kojima seems to be interesting in making, or something entirely new. Either way, stay tuned, and we’ll keep you updated.
