Kojima Teasing (Another) Metal Gear Collection

We should have one of these every year.

Last year, Hideo Kojima released the Metal Gear Legacy Collection, which was a collector’s edition of the Metal Gear games, with every single canon Metal Gear game included in the package, along with some collector’s items too. The collection was made available exclusively on the PS3, which I guess makes sense when you consider that the traditional home of Metal Gear has always been PlayStation.

It, however, does not make sense when you consider that the series is now making the jump to Xbox and PC too, and audiences on both those systems could sort of do with a crash course on the games before the release of The Phantom Pain (allegedly next year). That might be why Kojima is teasing something called the Metal Gear Collection 2014… which might be exactly what it sounds like: a brand new collection of all Metal Gear games, possibly for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.

It is entirely possible that Kojima reveals this new collection at TGS. Or he might go ahead and hint at it tomorrow, which is when he reveals a bit more of The Phantom Pain to us ahead of its full reveal at TGS.

Whatever it is, we’ll keep you posted. Stay tuned.
