You can never quite be sure why Nintendo do what they do. Why did they make those weird CDi Zelda games? Why do the people in ARMS have springs instead of regular arms? Why is Mario’s full name Mario Mario? Why aren’t they hosting a general Direct even though we’ve been thirsty for information about their 2020 lineup for months now? Well, add another one to the pile.
Over on Twitter, the official accounts of both Nintendo and LEGO recently shared an interesting tease for LEGO Super Mario. What is LEGO Super Mario? Your guess is as good as hours. The clip attached to the teaser shows a screen of sorts with the series’ trademark question block flashing across it, while both Nintendo and LEGO also ask that you “stay tuned”. Given the tease, one would assume that more details aren’t too far away- but again, you never know with Nintendo.
The Japanese company did recently say that it wants to keep collaborating with third party companies to expand its IPs, and this seems to fall in line with that. What exactly this will end up being remains to be seen, but stay tuned, and we’ll keep you updated on any new info that comes our way.
