Lifetime DS sales hit 144 million, Wii nears 85 million

In their new earnings report of the last quarter of 2010, Nintendo announced the lifetime sales of their current gen systems, the Wii and the DS.

As of December 31st, the DS family has sold a whopping 144.59 million units, getting ever closer to becoming the highest selling game system ever. The software sales of the DS added up to 817.49 million units in its entire lifetime.

The Wii has sold 84.64 million units, and software sales have hit 695.37 million units.

During the fourth quarter of ’10, Nintendo shipped around 18 million units of the DS and Wii combined, and around 130 million software units combined
