Man of Medan is hoping to be the first in a multi-entry anthology of narrative based horror games. It will take place primarily on an abandoned ship and employ a choice system similar to developer Supermassive Games’ previous title, Until Dawn. While the game will be on the shorter side, it’s designed to have multiple playthroughs. Adding an element to that will be the Curator’s Cut, which will allow you see alternate scenes and dialogue across multiple playthroughs.

As detailed in the video below, you will have your first playthrough, which is referred to as a “theatrical cut.” While a normal playthrough will get its addition value by you making different decisions from the same characters, playing through with the Curator’s Cut will actually allow you control other characters and their choices and dialouge in that scene. It adds more information and context through each run, giving even more reasons to play again and again.

Man of Medan will release August 30th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The Curator’s Cut will be available as a pre-order bonus, but will eventually be released for free to everyone at a later date.
