Gfk has released its weekly sales charts for physical software sales in the UK for the last two weeks (via GamesIndustry), and where the top positions for both charts are concerned, two games have come out on top. For the week ending December 25, FIFA 22 retained its place at No. 1, where it was the preceding week as well, while for the week ending January 1, it was pushed down to No. 2, with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe taking the top spot (after occupying third place in the preceding week).
Call of Duty: Vanguard, Just Dance 2022, and the Switch version of Minecraft dropped down from their respective places, but were in the top 10 of both weeks. Conversely, Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales saw improvements, moving from No. 7 to No. 3 and from No. 5 to No. 4 respectively.
The remaining three positions were occupied by completely different games across both weeks. Battlefield 2042, Far Cry 6, and Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy were in the bottom three positions of the top 10 for the week ending December 25. The next week, they were replaced by Pokemon Brilliant Diamond at No. 6, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla at No. 9, and Mario Party Superstars at No.10.
