Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Nintendo Switch Continue To Top Charts In Japan

Another quiet week...

Posted By | On 14th, Jun. 2017

It may be E3 week, but it is also Wednesday, which means that it’s time for the weekly hardware and software sales charts from Japan. And, to no one’s surprise, Nintendo has topped the charts, with the Nintendo Switch coming in first in terms of hardware sales, followed by the PS4 and 3DS respectively.

In terms of games, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is now back on top, with Tekken 7, Monster Hunter XX, and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild all pulling in strong showings as well. Perennial strong performers such as NieR Automata, Grand Theft Auto 5, Pokemon Sun/Moon, and Minecraft have all charted and pulled in respectable numbers, too.

It has been, on the whole, a rather slow and quiet week- hopefully, with the release of ARMS this week, things are shaken up a little in next week’s charts. Then shortly after that, we’ll get Dragon Quest 11 and Splatoon 2. Hopefully that makes for more interesting Japanese charts.
