Mario Kart 8 Gets The Most Hilariously Ironic Limited Edition Ever

Nintendo using that Blue Shell to take out the first place console stealthily.

The Wii U’s biggest release yet (and indeed, one of this year’s biggest games period) is just less than three months away from release, and Nintendo have started to amp up the hype. Today they announced that Mario Kart 8 would be getting a Limited Edition in Europe… and it is one hilariously ironic Limited Edition.

Probably taking into account people’s vocal dislike and hatred of the item, Nintendo have announced that the LE of Mario Kart 8 will be rocking a sweet ass Blue Spiky Shell trophy, along with a cool, prettied up box, and of course, the game itself. The Limited Edition is now up for pre-ordering.

Depending on where exactly you are buying the game from, you will also be getting other bonuses- such as a cool Bullet Bill shirt, keychains, or a Steering Wheel accessory for your console.

Mario Kart 8 launches exclusively on the Wii U May 30, 2014. Stay tuned, folks.
