A game based on a Marvel property with a good developer backing it is bound to do well in the current market, and Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 fits that description. Not only that, it’s also a Nintendo first party Switch exclusive, and it’s hard to think of one of those that hasn’t sold well. However, it seems like Ultimate Alliance 3 may be selling better even than what was expected.
According to Benji-Sales, who’s got a proven track record with sales data for video games software in the US, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order has sold “significantly” better in its first twenty-four hours on the market than what was expected. As per him, though pre-release tracking for the game wasn’t too strong, launch numbers have been “very impressive.”
In fact, according to Benji, based on current figures, it’s looking like Ultimate Alliance 3 is going to be third best selling Switch game of 2019. It’s tracking better than other major Switch releases like Mortal Kombat 11 and Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled did, and is trailing behind only New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe and Super Mario Maker 2.
Official sales data has yet to be released for any region, but if these reports are to be believed, Nintendo might have yet another hit on their hands.
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order is out now for the Switch. In our review of the game, we called it “an entertaining and extremely fun game that is best experienced with others.” Read our full review through here.
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 opening 48 hours is tracking SIGNIFICANTLY ahead of my expectations for the title in US. Frankly I wasn't sure how it would perform as pre release tracking wasn't all that strong
Very impressive launch. Marvel and Nintendo may have a legitimate hit pic.twitter.com/BzmgFC6DBz

It's looking possible that MUA3 could be the 3rd biggest Switch launch of 2019 so far. Only behind New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe and Mario Maker 2
Its tracking significantly ahead of other big launches on Switch such as Mortal Kombat 11 and Crash Team Racing for example
