Maverick Games has joined hands with Focus Entertainment to bring Clutch, its ambitious narrative-driven open-world racer, to its audiences.
The studio has announced that Focus will handle publishing duties for the title, which brings an intense story about racing to life alongside an open world that’s as gorgeous as it is high-stakes. It follows two siblings looking to make their mark on the local racing scene before the effort snowballs into a story that’s got intense, cinematic chases and some excellent arcade racing to keep the adrenaline flowing just as much as the fuel those rides guzzle up.
All in all, it’s a recipe for high-octane racing with a surprisingly compelling story and characters, and given its penchant for narrative-heavy titles, Focus feels like the perfect fit for Maverick Games. We’d have loved to have a release date other than that vague Spring 2027 window, but we suppose that’s another reason to talk about this one again (especially since it’s slated to appear at the Future Games Show at Gamescom Showcase on August 26th).
The announcement came with a trailer, which should give you a good idea of what we’re talking about. Clutch is coming to PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
