The official Twitter feed for Metal Gear has revealed interesting new details about Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain. First of all, the developers confirmed that the story mode of Metal Gear Solid 5 will be longer than the previous games in the series, not to mention the fact that side missions will further extend the game’s playthrough length.

The developers also confirmed that Snake cannot swim in the game but can obviously walkthrough water, shallow streams and anything where his feet can touch the ground. Furthermore, if you need to play and build your own Forward Operating Base, you would need PS Plus or Xbox Live Gold. However FOBs can be developed and customized even if you are offline or you can skip FOB all together and be offline.

The developers hinted that the eye wear in the game may be customizable. While Snake wears outfits that might change his eyewear, the players cannot select separate eyewear in-game. Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain is due on September 1st, 2015 for PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC.
