Ever since Hideo Kojima announced Metal Gear Solid 5 there has been some wild speculation about how certain changes have led the series to lose its sense of aura.  Even after several assurances by Kojima himself, it seems that fans are a bit skeptical on how the latest iteration will turn out to be.

In a recent podcast by Kojima Productions, Assistant Producer Sean Eyestone tried to put such concerns to rest.  “Some people are still worried about, you know, will this be challenging enough? Because they’ve seen some of the gameplay videos, and think it looks a little bit easy. Keep in mind these videos were shot in normal mode. There is a significant difference between normal difficulty and hard difficulty,” he said.

On the other hand level designer Jordan Amaro believes that this is still pretty much a Metal Gear at its core. “The DNA hasn’t changed. It’s still the Metal Gear that everyone knows,” he assured.

The prologue to The Phantom Pain, Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes will be releasing in March 2014 across the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Do you plan to pick it up? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
