Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain With Kojima's Name Removed

In the latest turn of events in the ongoing mystery surrounding the suspicious circumstances that will see Hideo Kojima leave Konami post-Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, Konami has once again removed his name from imagery related to the game. This includes the emblem that represents Kojima Productions as well as their powerful Fox Engine.

Where it once read, “A Hideo Kojima Game”, the box simply reads, “Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain” with the subtitle “Tactical Espionage Operations” beneath. At this time, nobody really knows what has caused this apparent rift between Konami and Kojima’s team.

With voice actress for the iDroid, Donna Burke, having claimed that Kojima had been fired earlier this month when she said, “Yes don’t throw away the Kojima teams work over the last 5 years because upper management fired a genius.”, the statement has since been called “categorically wrong” by a Konami representative.

We will keep you updated as this develops.
