You might have forgotten, but there is a new Metal Gear game on the way; it will, sadly, not be a brand new Metal Gear solid game helmed by Hideo Kojima, and is, in fact, neither a canonical entry in the series’ saga, nor is it anything like those previous games.

What it does seem to be is an intriguing co-op zombie action game with elements of resource management, built on top of the same FOX Engine that made The Phantom Pain such a joy to play. How will the Metal Gear fanbase respond to this game? At this point, there is no way to know. But Konami is forging full on ahead with its marketing and release plans for the game anyway.

For instance, you can check out some brand new footage for the game posted on the series’ Japanese Twitter account. There are some new screenshots for you to see as well. Metal Gear Survive launches in February for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
