Studio Zero’s Metaphor: ReFantazio can be challenging, especially when tackling its dungeons. They don’t require specific Archetypes, but enemies can ambush you, while tougher threats and bosses force you into battle without advantages. There are even “Humans” who are tricky to deal with.

However, as revealed in the game’s recent livestream, players can change the difficulty whenever desired (though completing certain quests beforehand also affects the challenge). If you’re clueless when tackling an enemy or boss, there’s also a “retry” option to restart from scratch.

There’s also a Network feature to view what team compositions others have used for clearing a dungeon, but that’s not the best part. You can select those compositions and switch to them with a button press – an underrated yet phenomenal quality-of-life feature.

Metaphor: ReFantazio launches on October 11th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PS4 and PC. Head here for details on all the Archetype Lineages and Evolved Archetypes. You can also learn about the new Synthesis feature to combine Archetypes in combat for even more strategy.
