During their Nintendo Direct presentation yesterday, Nintendo confirmed that fan favorite characters Lucas and Mewtwo would be returning to Super Smash Bros. for 3DS and Wii U as DLC; MewTwo had already been confirmed back before the game even launched as eventual DLC, available for free for anyone who bought both, the 3DS and Wii U versions of the game. Yesterday’s announcement confirmed his general availability to everyone for $3.99 on one platform or $4.99 on both.

Lucas, the Mother 3 character who first debuted in Brawl, will also be returning to Smash Bros., albeit in June. He will be priced similarly to Mewtwo, albeit no one will get him for free.

In addition, Nintendo confirmed plans to continue supporting Smash Bros. with post launch DLC, and invited the fans to take part in the process with the Smash Bros. Ballot, a website where fans can submit requests for their favorite characters that they would like to see included in the game.
