Until next year's E3, that is.

Much like every other year so far, Microsoft has promised that the lineup of games that it will feature at its E3 press showing this year will be the very best it has ever showcased- the ‘greatest games lineup in Xbox history,’ if you will.

And while they make this exact same claim every year, I am personally inclined to believe them this time around- it does seem like they will have a loaded deck of cards this year. Just counting their first and second party games which are confirmed so far, we have Quantum Break, Halo 5: Guardians, Gears of War, Crackdown, Scalebound, Forza Motorsport 6, Fable Legends, and Rise of the Tomb Raider.

This is not counting Rare’s unannounced project that is scheduled to be unveiled at E3, the plethora of third party games that are likely to be showcased at Microsoft’s showing (including Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, Batman: Arkham Knight, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, and more), as well as Microsoft’s promise that it will finally begin to bolster its first party output…

And it is easy to see why there might be a vein of excitement surrounding this E3 showing. Whether or not Microsoft actually lives up to this billing is now all that remains to be seen. Xbox- the ball is entirely in your court. Don’t fail us.
