Mighty No. 9 Animated Series Announced

Suck on that, Capcom.

Mighty No. 9 is the upcoming new game from Comcept, headed by Keiji Inafune, the creator of Mega-Man, and sure enough, it’s a pretty blatantly ‘spiritual sequel’ of the classic Mega-Man games. The title is due out for release next year on all major platforms, but it seems as if the makers already have aspirations for the game to grow into something beyond just a Mega-Man game for the fans because Capcom won’t make a new one- it seems they want to make Mighty No. 9 a media property.

To wit: they are making a Mighty No. 9 animated series of 26 episodes for the worldwide market, that will be created by Digital Frontier, who have past experience with games and game related animation content. Mighty No. 9 will be CG animation, and will be coming out some time in 2016, so a fair bit after the game itself, which is due out next year. Hopefully, the success of both feeds the success of the other.

Mighty No. 9 is due out next year on the Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Wii U, Nintendo 3DS, PlayStation Vita, and PC.
