The excellent and exquisite looking Mighty No. 9, which is the spiritual successor to Capcom’s flagship mascot franchise, Mega Man, has had a record breaking run on Kickstarter- now, the game has managed to meet not only its initial goals, but also the stretch goals, so that the game will now be coming out on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo 3DS, and PlayStation Vita in addition to Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii U, when it launches in 2015.

Mighty No. 9, being helmed by Keiji Inafune (who, not co-incidentally, also created Mega Man), will also have the composer of Mega Man 2’s music on board. It has gone on record as one of the highest grossing video game related Kickstarters of all time, and the most successful Japanese Kickstarter ever, period.

Now that the Kickstarter is ending, proper development on the game should start soon, and we should have more coverage for you all. Stay tuned, and in the meanwhile, let us know what platform(s) you plan on picking the title up on.
