15. Red Dead Redemption (2010)
Despite years in development, suffering from financial cuts and limbo, Red Dead Redemption did open-world in the way that GTA IV should've. It was big and beautiful, with varied flora and fauna, an amazing draw distance and depth of field, and easily the best sunsets you will see in a game till this day. The animation work and texture quality only enhanced the experience that this breath-taking western brought forward.
