Minecraft is Getting Dungeons & Dragons DLC

Mojang is teaming up with Wizards of the Coast to release a new Dungeons & Dragons-themed DLC for Minecraft.

Minecraft developer Mojang has announced a collaboration with pen-and-paper RPG Dungeons & Dragons for a new Minecraft DLC. The DLC was unveiled during a recent livestream by Dungeons & Dragons owner Wizards of the Coast.

The DLC, referred to as Minecraft Dungeons & Dragons, features quite a few reskins for various monsters and equipment. The trailer, which you can check out below, also shows off iconic locations from Dungeons & Dragons setting Forgotten Realms recreated in Minecraft.

The trailer also indicates that the DLC will be more in-depth than offering simple reskins of existing items in the game. RPG mechanics and various equipment that can affect a player’s stats can be spotted, as can what looks to be a class system.

Minecraft Dungeons & Dragons is the first of two collaborations between the two properties, with the other one focusing on the tabletop game. Wizards of the Coast and Mojang will be releasing a new Monstrous Compendium for Dungeons & Dragons, which will feature creatures and characters from Minecraft that can be used in any Dungeons & Dragons campaign.
