Sounds good to me.

Mirror's Edge Catalyst

Solar Fields, who gave us the excellent soundtrack for DICE’s Mirror Edge, will also be returning to score its sequel, EA and DICE have announced. This is, of course, good news, as the soundtrack for the original Mirror’s Edge was one of the biggest reasons for that game being what it was- it added to, and enhanced, the feel, atmosphere, and identity of the game, reinforcing Faith’s isolation from the rest of society, and establishing just what kind of world it was that she was in.

Him scoring Mirror’s Edge Catalyst 2 means we can probably expect a similar kind of atmosphere from the sequel. Early indications are encouraging- in a short interview with Fields is available over at the official Mirror’s Edge blog, the composer discusses the challenge of ensuring he gets how Faith “sounds” right, and also details the process of composing these themes and ensuring they actually tie in to the game’s missions.

Mirror’s Edge Catalyst will launch on PS4, Xbox One, and PC on February 23, 2016.
