Monster Hunter: World Will Have Drop-In Multiplayer, Capcom Confirms

You can shoot up an SOS flare as well.

Capcom have confirmed that the upcoming open world Monster Hunter: World will feature proper drop-in multiplayer, which will be another first for the series. Add that to the list. Capcom’s Ryozo Tsujimoto, who is also part of the development team working on Monster Hunter: World, confirmed this in a post-E3 interview while speaking about several new features in the game.

Monster Hunters have previously had this four player multiplayer system,” Tsujimoto said through a translator when asked about how multiplayer will be handled in the upcoming World. “So you could meet up with your friends, and go into your hub, and choose a quest, and go out together. But [in Monster Hunter: World] for the first time,  we’ve got drop-in multiplayer. Say you’re out on a quest and you’re getting into trouble with a monster, you can shoot up an SOS flare, get your buddies to join in and get them to help you take it on.”

That said, Tsujimoto also confirmed that Monster Hunter: World will not be doing away with hunter lounges- but of course, we didn’t expect that to happen. Monster Hunter: World is due out next year for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Stay tuned to GamingBolt for more updates.
