I can state with complete unironic certainty that my most anticipated game for this year is Persona 5: Dancing Star Night– I love Persona 5, I love its style, I love its characters (especially Makoto), and I love its soundtrack. So anything celebrating all of that is an automatic slam dunk for me in my books, and that’s what Dancing Star Night will be.
Now, more details have emerged on the game, as well as its partner game Dancing Moon Night, which will be focusing on Persona 3 instead. For instance, we now know the premise of both the games (the respective characters of both games find themselves in the Velvet Room, and are forced to dance for a dance party thrown by the attendants… thank goodness these games aren’t canon). A “Commu” mode will let you interact with the other characters, to unlock events, costumes, and other bonus content. Speaking of which, there will obviously be loads of costumes to dance with, too.
Persona 3: Dancing Moon Night and Persona 5: Dancing Stars Night are due out on PS4 and PS Vita later this year in Japan. For now, a western release has not been announced or confirmed for either game.
