More Sources Indicate That Nintendo Switch Will Be In Short Supply At Launch

Pre-order now, I guess.

Yesterday, we told you that the Nintendo Switch would be in short supply at GameStop at launch, implying that the system might just be in short supply, period. Understocking has been a chronic problem for Nintendo products in the last few years, and it doesn’t look like that is about to change with the Switch either.

According to GoNintendo, who first broke the story, GameStop stores will be getting 20-30 Switch units per store at launch. That’s it- 20-30 units. If this is indicative of what the situation in general will be like at launch, then this will make getting hands on a system almost impossible. This is also something that should have been known, given that Nintendo did note that they are producing just 2 million Switch systems for launch.

So if you want to ensure you have a Switch at launch, just… go pre-order one now. You are unlikely to be able to walk into the store and pick one up for a while, if the past few Nintendo retail product launches are any indication.
