NetherRealm Studios and WB Games recently unveiled Mortal Kombat 1, and as has become traditional for the series, did so with a CG trailer. With the reboot set to launch later this year, however, expectations are high that a gameplay reveal will follow in the near future- which, thankfully, has now been officially confirmed.
It’s been announced that Mortal Kombat 1’s gameplay reveal will be grabbing the spotlight at Summer Game Fest on June 8. NetherRealm boss and series creator Ed Boon will take the stage during the event and showcase what it will have in store. Expect to learn more about its new mechanics, like Kameo fighters, and get a good look at the typically brutal and violent fights the series has always been known for.
Summer Game Fest producer and host Geoff Keighley recently confirmed that this year’s event will be roughly two hours long and feature 3-4 “pretty big” announcements. The show boasts list of over 40 partners this year, including the likes of Xbox, PlayStation, EA, Activision, Ubisoft, and more.
Mortal Kombat 1 is due out on September 19 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
