NetherRealm Studios announced earlier this month that Mortal Kombat 1’s next DLC character, DC’s Peacemaker, would be released for owners of the Kombat Pack on February 28. Now, with a new trailer, the developer has released further details on the character, the DLC’s launch, and a new Kameo fighter.

For starters, Mortal Kombat 1 players who don’t have the Kombat Pack will be able to start purchasing the Peacemaker DLC on March 6. Bearing the likeness and voice of John Cena, who portrayed the character in The Suicide Squad and HBO’s Peacemaker, the antihero will be equipped with a devastating moveset that will make use of his guns, his brawns, his wnged companion Eagly, and his helmet, while you can, of course, also expect plenty of brash and irreverent humour from him. His Fatality, meanwhile, will see him put his jetpack and Sonic Boom ability in gloriously gruesome fashion.

Meanwhile, NetherRealm Studios has also revealed a new Kameo fighter in the form of Janet Cage, who’s an alternate variant of Johnny Cage. She will be released at a later date in March. Check out the trailer below for a glimpse of both characters.

After Peacemaker, Mortal Kombat 1 still has some upcoming DLC fighters left on its current post-launch roadmap, with Ermac and The Boys’ Homelander set to arrive sometime in the spring, and Takeda Takahashi in the summer. Additionally, creative director Ed Boon has confirmed that NetherRealm Studios is working on a paid story expansion.

Mortal Kombat 1 is available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. As of late last month, it has sold 3 million units worldwide.
