Mortal Kombat 11’s Switch Version Delayed To May 10 in Europe

Thank god the Nintendo Switch doesn't have region locking.

Mortal Kombat 11

It seems that the initial rumors and speculation may have been correct. The Switch version of Mortal Kombat 11 has been delayed to May 10 in Europe, from its April 23 release date. Now, to be specific, this delay is specifically for the Switch version of Mortal Kombat 11 (the other versions are unaffected), and only in Europe (meaning you can buy the Switch version of the game at the same time as the other versions in other regions).

The delay has been confirmed by the official Nintendo Store page for the game in the UK, which now lists a May 10 release date for the game, much like other stores had already done some time ago. The North American version of the same page lists an April 23 release date for the game, which in turn also confirms that the delay is Europe only.

It’s a bummer that this is delayed at all, especially since the delay itself is so oddly localized. That said, at least the Switch is region free, so European players can still head on to the North American eShop and get the game right on time should they wish to. That said, Switch players of the game should prepare themselves for “lower geometry” than the other versions of the game will have.
