40. Bungie leaves Microsoft

Bungie left Microsoft and becoming an independent company of its own. Bungie did pretty well on its own and grew from 125 employees to 165 in a few years time. Bungie is currently developing the upcoming persistent online game: Destiny. Given that 343 Industries did a terrific job with Halo 4, it seems that Microsoft won’t be missing Bungie too much.
