Need for Speed Unbound_04

With a total of 143 cars and near infinite customizations, you can never have enough money when it comes to Need for Speed Unbound. Cash is king, and your account’s progression relies heavily on how much you can keep throwing at your car. Fortunately for you, there are a bunch of ways, such as police chases, side bets, mini-challenges, etc., and this guide discusses all of them. Let’s begin.

Practice Delivery Missions

Delivery missions are perfect for earning money in the early game. You’ll be called Rydell, Tress, and Yaz when there is a delivery available. However, each of them has different requirements.

Rydell:

  • Session: Morning
  • Heat Level: None
  • Objective: Deliver the car from point A to point B within a given time.

Tress:

  • Session: Night
  • Heat Level: High
  • Objective: Lose the cops before delivering the car. There is no time limit.

Yaz:

  • Session: Night
  • Heat Level: High
  • Objective: Lose the cops before delivering the car. There is no time limit.

The goal is to deliver the car in the least damaged condition. Your payout will take a significant cut if the car is damaged. If you managed to escape the cops, take the car to a gas station to get it fixed first before making the drop.

Planning Day & Night Sessions Optimally

There are two sessions in a single day, the Day session and the Night session. Once you enter your garage, the session moves forward to the next night or the next day, thereby cleaning all of the race events from the map. This is important because the heat system in NFS is quite unique.

The heat from your morning session carries over to the night session. The heat level only resets on the following day, which happens at the end of the night session. Every race increases your heat level, so racing all throughout the morning sessions is not a good idea. Schedule your races towards the night, so that if you’re in trouble with the cops, you can reset the heat level and not without having to give up your earnings.

Use Side Bets to Boost your Earnings

Side bets are a new feature that lets you wager extra money on any race you’re participating in. However, there is more to it. Your rivals bet based on your car’s performance. So they’ll bet more if you’re racing an underperforming car that’s almost destined to lose. It is quite risky, but the rewards are well worth the risk.

If you have the skills to win even in an underperforming car, then consider detuning it before the race. This makes the rival overconfident, and bet more money than they normally do, thereby giving you a chance to earn a small fortune.

Complete the Mini-Challenges

You’ll be given a list of mini-challenges with varying amounts of rewards at the start of the day’s session. The money isn’t much compared to the top-tier jobs, but over time, every buck counts. However, you can skip them if they are exceptionally difficult. Only do the easy ones, that take little to no effort to complete.

Let the Cops keep chasing you

You can earn a bunch of money by escaping cop pursuits, where a higher heat level grants more rewards. For instance, you only get $100 for escaping a level 1 pursuit, whereas escaping a level 5 pursuit nets you $2,500.

You can also enable the Gateway Diver mod, which doubles the rewards but shortens the time in between reinforcements.

Free Roam Challenges & Collectibles

Complete free roam challenges at the beginning of the day when the heat level is 0. These challenges include Speed Runs, Speed Traps, Long Jumps and Drift Zones. Try scoring a 3-star since it gets you a hefty reward of $5,000.

Online Races

Online races can be tough, but give out the highest rewards. Ranking first in an S+ class race gives you $22,500. You will be competing against the best in the world, where a little internet lag can cost you the win, so be careful.
