With more and more players diving into the battlefield of the recently released Alpha version of Arma 3 everyday, developer Bohemia Interactive has released the second video in its official community guide series. The latest episode teaches the basics of infantry combat, throwing some valuable tips insights on on the principles of situational awareness, positioning, enemy contact and shooting. Check it out below.

The final version of Arma 3 is still a long way from release, but for those of you who can’t hold on to your horses any no longer, then you’re in luck. The Arma 3 Alpha is now available for testing purpose and those who haven’t received an invite can purchase it off Steam via its Early Access program.

The Alpha version confines you to the perimeters of the island of Stratis which spans 20 km², and includes singleplayer showcase missions, 2 co-operative multiplayer scenarios and a subset of weapons and vehicles. A handy editor is also included for modding purposes. This is however only a small piece of the full game, which will sport 290 km² of Mediterranean terrain, 40+ weapons, 20+ vehicles, 5 factions, a singleplayer campaign, multiplayer, scenarios and challenges, and more.

The Beta version is currently scheduled for Q2 2013, while the full release arrives in the third quarter.
