New Assassin’s Creed Unity Character Introduces Elise

Look! A female character in a Ubisoft game!

It seems almost as if this trailer was released in response to all the criticism Ubisoft, and particularly Assassin’s Creed Unity, has had to endure recently about their exclusion of female characters (the reasons given were particularly, obnoxiously laughable)- the brand new CGI trailer for Assassin’s Creed Unity features Elise, a character described as central to the plotline of the game, a ‘fierce, independent noblewoman.’ No, she’s still not playable, although I suppose this is a bit of a start?

As for the trailer itself, it looks amazing, just as Assassin’s Creed Unity always has. The CG trailer seems to hint more at the plot and narrative of the game than anything has so far. The game looks like a seriously sweet next generation realization of the promise of Assassin’s Creed, and I for one cannot wait to get my hands on the title once it goes on sale later this year on October 28, for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
