Speculation surrounding a new Batman game has been intensifying of late. First, the Epic Games Store hinted at a mysterious Batman collection going free on the store, which was interesting because it went out of its way to not mention any specific game or collection. Following that, Roger Craig Smith, the voice actor who played Batman in Batman: Arkham Origins, added fuel to the fire when he suggested that he was working on a new, super-confidential video game.

Now, even more stuff has surfaced to heat up that speculation a bit more. Fortnite leaker @Lucas7yoshi on Twitter has been doing some digging around in the game’s files following its latest patch, and his datamining efforts have yielded some interesting results. Epic Games seem to have dumped a ton of new Batman-related content into the game, from cosmetics and challenges to adding Gotham City to the map to a new loading screen. Check out the tweets below.

But that’s not all. Ryan Galleta, who was the writer on Batman: Arkham Origins, recently took to Twitter to respond to the aforementioned tweet by Roger Craig Smith, suggesting that he’s working on the same confidential project as the voice actor. Additionally, Gary Miereanu, Smith’s publicist, said in his own response to the voice actor’s tweet that whatever the project is will be revealed “reasonably soon.” You can find these tweets below as well.

There’s plenty of smoke here, and it’s looking likelier that some announcement will be made soon. Given the involvement of the Epic Games Store and Fortnite’s it’s possible that whatever this new Batman game is – if it is a new Batman game – ends up being exclusive to the storefront. Either way, it’s best not to get your hopes up too high about this just yet- as soon as we know something more concrete, we’ll let you know, so stay tuned.
