We were wondering when NASCAR 26 was going to go live with its gameplay reveal, and it’s finally here with a new trailer. We must say that things are looking quite promising for iRacing’s second stab at the franchise.
The most exciting new addition for us is the dynamic track system, which brings the track’s wear and tear into play when you have multiple races lined up for a weekend. That’s going to make successive races more interesting in a gameplay loop that needs variety. Improved driving mechanics across the board are also part of the new offerings, as are additions such as a new trophy room and better post-race coverage. It’s a long list that zooms by quite quickly, which makes us almost certain that more information is forthcoming ahead of the game’s September 18 release date for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
If you remember, we found last year’s iteration an ambitious effort from iRacing Studios that needed refinement to make it truly stand out in our review. We’re hoping this follow-up brings that change, considering that the last one had so much to like. Things are looking fairly good if the trailer below is any indication.
