Nintendo has gone ahead and announced a brand new Nintendo Direct that will be held on March 6 for Monolith Soft’s upcoming Xenoblade Chronicles X on the Wii U; this new Nintendo Direct will be focusing on the combat and encounters in the game.

Xenoblade Chronicles X is the successor to Monolith Soft’s highly praised Xenoblade Chronicles on the Wii (which is now getting a port to the New Nintendo 3DS courtesy of Monster Games); the game is set in the future, and sees a band of humanity taking refuge on an alien and exotic world. Featuring a vast, staggeringly open world, and some impressive scale and ambition, it looks like it might be one of the Wii U’s most exciting titles (which really is saying something).

Xenoblade Chronicles X is due to launch in Japan in April, while a release will follow in the rest of the world some time this year. In Japan, the game will also be getting a console bundle.
