New Pokemon Snap

The N64 classic Pokemon Snap is probably one of the most beloved non-mainline games in the entire series (to the point that many love it more than most of the mainline games). Fans have been asking for a sequel to it for years now, but as Game Freak stated recently, they hadn’t been able to find “a very unique twist” for how to bring it back up until now. Well, it looks like they found that twist.

During the recent Pokemon Presents broadcast, The Pokemon Company announced the next Pokemon Snap game. Called simply New Pokemon Snap, it will see players once again grabbing their cameras and head to islands to click photographs of various Pokemon in their natural habitats. The reveal trailer shows glimpses of the game, showing a Pikachu eating an apple, a Blastoise chilling at the beach, a Squirtle riding a Lapras, and much more- and it looks really, really good, at least from a visual perspective. Take a look below.

New Pokemon Snap is currently in development for the Switch, but doesn’t yet have a release date.
