New Ryse: Son of Rome Trailer Tries To Sell You On Its Combat

Does it succeed? Eh...

Ryse: Son of Rome has had a mountain of hostility to climb since its E3 unveil, with players instantly dismissing its QTE heavy gameplay and its emphasis on flash over substance. This new trailer, which attempts to walk players through the game’s combat system (which it at least tries to sell as deep and intricate), tries to sell players on the idea that Ryse is more than just a glorified quick time event.

I still don’t know if I’m convinced. It just looks singularly and remarkably boring. It looks quite like the Knack of the Xbox One launch titles, and nothing that I have seen yet seems to be convincing me otherwise.

What do you all think? Are you sold on the game, at least a little more than you were before, after watching that trailer?
