Prachya Pinkaew, the director of the much acclaimed Ong Bak series is apparently now in line to direct a brand new Tekken film, which will serve as a prequel the the 2010 Tekken movie, which was almost universally heralded as a bomb. This new Tekken movie will be titled, Tekken – A Man Called X.

The original Tekken film went straight to DVD in the US, avoiding mainstream theater showings. At this time we are unsure whether or not Tekken – A Man Called X will see release across theaters, but given the director’s excellent track record and the up-and-coming string of video game-based films such as Need For Speed and Assassin’s Creed, it is safe to say that this one will be aimed at the box office.

The film will star Kane Kusagei, who is known for portraying the role of Ryu in the film Dead or Alive. Will you be checking A Man Called X out whenever and wherever it releases? Let us know below.
