Tomb Raider is a great game, and it seems people have realised how successful it was critically as a new movie based on the reboot has been confirmed.

GK Films will be producing the movie and Crystal Dynamics–the studio behind the game–will also have an input.

Crystal Dynamics head Darrell Gallagher revealed this to Variety.

“They are working from this new take that we’ve given them. It’s a good partnership. We’re seeing the challenges through the same lens. It was important for both of us to have a cohesive version of the franchise. We didn’t want to see a film version that was a continuation of the old ‘Tomb Raider’ films.”

This seems like a good move. There’s no mention of the lead heroine but Camilla Luddington did a great job with the virtual Lara Croft.
