Shocking, I know.

call of duty black ops 2

Last year’s Call of Duty was the huge success you’ve come to expect from the annual series. It pulled in tons of sales as well as other digital spending revenue. Of course, no matter how successful it is, time has to march on. The next Call of Duty will come once again next year, and today we got confirmation of that.

During the Activision financial results call, they confirmed that the next Call of Duty will come out in Q4 of this year. A shocking revelation, I know, but considering this is the biggest ongoing franchise of all time, it’s still some big news, especially since this entry will almost certainly be on next generation consoles.

A title nor developer were announced, but it’s rumored that the game will be Black Ops related and was rebooted after a rough development cycle. Generally, we hear more about the next COD more toward the middle of the year. We’ll keep you up to date on information as it comes.
