EA Sports have announced NHL 17, this year’s edition of their long running hockey game series. The new game will be a major evolution of the NHL formula, featuring iterative improvements such as improved behavior for the goalies, and improved passing and hit detection, as well as several major new additions.

Chief among those new additions is the International Tournament Mode, which will be featured in the series for the first time in history, and will have all official teams, logos, players, and arenas. The game will also come with an arena editor and a team editor, allowing players still more control over their game and how they play it.

NHL 17 will be launching on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC later this year, with versions for PS3 and Xbox 360 also probably in the works. You can check the full list of changes, additions, and iterations in the game over at EA’s website– it’s a long list, and you’ll probably find something that ends up making you interested in this year’s installment, even if you have not been interested in the games for a few years now.
