Bandai Namco and Level-5 have confirmed that Ni no Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom, the sequel to the PS3 and DS hit, will be launching on PC as well as PlayStation 4 later this year, simultaneously worldwide. This is a change from what we had known until now, which was that Ni no Kuni 2 would be a PS4 exclusive.

Ni no Kuni 2 is developed by Japanese video game studio Level-5 Inc. As with the original game, it will see some Studio Ghibli involvement, albeit in an unofficial capacity this time- with participation of the former Studio Ghibli animator Yoshiyuki Momose in the game’s development, and music by Joe Hisaishi.

The original Ni no Kuni on the PS3 was a largely well received JRPG in the vein of classic games that went on to sell over a million copies worldwide- that said, it was also very heavily flawed, and hopefully, this sequel will take the chance to address some of those flaws. I can’t wait to play it when it launches later this year.
